After the Articles were drafted and completed, the key step is the filing of them with the State of Wisconsin.  Doing so legally creates the corporation known as ASM Foundation, Inc., the corporate entity of the Foundation.

Having corporate status enables the Foundation to do many things.  It provides a liability shield between the Foundation's activities and its directors, allows the Foundation to own both disposable and real property and allows the Foundation to operate under its own name, as if it were a real person.

After the Articles were drafted, three key students and alumni filed the Articles with the State, giving birth to the Foundation.

This step has been completed.
